NOWIE is preparing for a board refresh, and we’re looking for engaged, values-aligned individuals to join our Board of Advisors. This is an exciting chance to help shape the future of NOWIE, bring fresh ideas to the table, and support our mission to elevate women and non-binary people in the events industry. Please note, we welcome and encourage applications from men. Applications close October 6th 2025.

About NOWIE

NOWIE is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that exists to support, connect, and inspire women and non-binary individuals working in events. Over the last yea,r we’ve grown into a stronger, more structured community, and our Board of Advisors plays a vital role in guiding that growth.

The board provides insight, opens doors, and ensures we stay aligned with our mission and values as we continue to expand.

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from individuals with a passion for driving change in the events industry, ideally with experience in areas such as:

  • Social enterprise and CIC governance

  • Community initiatives, charities, or associations

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)

  • Sponsorship and commercial partnerships

  • PR and marketing

  • Advocacy or public affairs

  • Industry connections and networking

  • Mentoring and professional development

You don’t need to tick every box — what matters most is your enthusiasm for NOWIE’s mission and your willingness to contribute your expertise and network.

What the role involves

Being on the Board of Advisors is a voluntary role. It’s designed to be flexible and accessible, recognising that our members have busy professional and personal lives.

As a board member, you’ll:

  • Attend one online meeting per quarter (or arrange a one-to-one with the NOWIE team)

  • Join us at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) — ideally in person

  • Share your expertise and insights to help guide our direction

  • Use your networks to make introductions to partners, sponsors, or members where relevant

  • Act as an advocate for NOWIE and our community

The upcoming term runs until September 2026.
