The empowerment series
600 women shared their experiences of working in events. Now(ie) do something about it.
On April 1st, we launched our Big Survey Report: a first-of-its-kind study of women's experiences working in the events industry. The response so far has been monumental – with the report receiving 200 downloads in just a few weeks.
But the conversation can't stop there.
This report is just the beginning, and should act as a leap-pad to further action. We hope that the findings from the study can be used to build a more inclusive, more accessible, and much safer industry for everyone.
So we've created the Empowerment Series: a collection of virtual sessions that explore the key challenges faced by women and non binary people working in events – taken direct from the study itself.

women’s safety panel
Friday 9th May – 12pm-1pm
Did you know? 10% of women have experienced sexual assault whilst onsite*
Everyone deserves to feel safe when they’re at an event – whether they’re part of the team, or part of the crowd.
So, in this panel discussion, we'll be joined by four events leaders to explore how we can keep women and non-binary folk safe and supported in the events industry. We’ll explore the realities faced by women at work, on-site, and during travel, and what the industry must do to improve.

breaking the narrative panel
Friday 16th May – 12pm-1pm
57% of women working in events feel their income does not fairly reflect their work – and only 8% are in director-level roles*
We’re tired of breaking through a glass ceiling. It’s about time someone opened the door.
In this panel discussion, we'll be talking to four female events leaders about how they’re paving the way for a more equal, and equitable, events industry. We’ll hear about about how they've overcome obstacles unique to women and non-binary folk, and are supporting others to do the same.
